Oak Burr Bowl

£130.00
sold out

This large piece of Burr Oak has been drying for many years just waiting for me to make something from it. The cracks and splits meant that to make a thin walled item without filling the gaps with resin or glue and filler was impossible. Having cleaned up the base I decided that the appeal of the piece was the colour, the beautiful Burr grain and also the character given to it by the splits and cracks, they just had to be kept. The piece you see here is the result.

The bowl has been hand turned and then hand finished, using my favourite natural wax polish, to give the lovely sheen you can see in the photographs.

Overall the bowl is 14” in diameter x 3” high with the inner bowl being slightly over 8” in diameter.

Suitable for dry goods only.
