'Square' Edged Olive Bowl
I don’t normally get my hands on Olive wood as it is difficult to get hold of in any meaningful sizes but a friend brought me a branch which is roughly 8” - 10” in diameter so I will, over the coming months, be able to offer a number of items turned from it. If the rest of the branch is as stunning as the first two pieces I turned then the items will be truly stunning.
This item has been left in the ‘square’ to show the outside shape of the branch together with the cut ends of the piece as I cut it off the branch.
The unique shape, colour and grain of this piece makes for a wonderful item and would make a fabulous gift for you or someone special in your life. The pictures show the range of colours and grain in this piece. It has been hand turned and then hand waxed using a natural polish to give a lovely look and a silky feel.
The item is only suitable for dry goods.
